Doing ANYTHING regularly over the past two weeks has been a challenge. I've been working totally different hours that I'm not used to. At the gym I was working mostly afternoons and evenings. Now, I wake up most mornings between 5 am and 6 am! Hell has frozen over. I haven't quite gotten the swing of going to bed early, so I compensate for my lack of sleep at night with long mid-afternoon naps! I took about a week and a half off of the gym, and got back into it last weekend. I went Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and today. And I'm getting my tattoo worked on tomorrow so I couldn't do any weight-training today. Cardio only. They discourage weight-training within two days before a tattoo because of the swelling of the muscles and the healing process that occurs. Causes an increase in bleeding!
Anyway, I hope you all are getting plenty of sleep and feeling motivated. Share some workout stories with me! I'd love to hear how you're all doing! Motivate me!!

Haha! Don't know if this is motivating but I will give it a shot. Had the flu last week, so of course....absolutely no working out til I had at least one full day without body aches. Did two days of lite full body workouts and one day of lite cardio and now I am back full steam with my workouts. Before I got sick I was actually making some increases in my strength and didn't need assists in my max weight sets. Haven't tested the max weights yet, eased back just a tad.
ReplyDeleteHey, it's always motivating to hear that your not the only person on the face of the planet that's recently had some gym setbacks! Makes us feel like less of a loser when we know it's something that happens to other people as well! I'm glad you are back in your routine!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Kinda like misery loves company?
ReplyDeleteGirl, I feel your A.M. pain & am amazed & proud of your ability to fight, if not overcome, the family night owl curse!
ReplyDeleteReading your blog has made me start thinking of how I've totally given up on fighting for fitness this past year. I hadn't been able to much much headway these past few years but at least I tried before. Now, I've at least realized I'd totally given up over the fall/winter because of the arthritis pain. I just HAVE to find a work around, somehow, that doesn't involve paying to swim (only MD suggestion).
Thanks for reminding me that giving up is NOT an option! ~Mom
